Dr. Day is a retired Christian Counselor with 31 years of private practice in Portland, Oregon.  An author and speaker at seminars, conferences and retreats, he continues to share both locally and nationally.  He and his wife Gail now live in Central Oregon when not traveling throughout the U. S. speaking and being tourists.  They have four children, Kent, Talitha, Tabitha and Timothy.

Dr. Day received his Th.B. degree in Bible from Multnomah University and a B.A. degree in Sociology-Anthropology from Western Washington University. From Wheaton Graduate School of Theology, he earned his M.A. degree in New Testament and he received his Ph.D. degree in Counseling  Psychology  from Rosemead School of Psychology.

Larry has traveled in over 35 countries around the world in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the South Pacific, Central and South America.  These travels included studying under Dr. Francis Schaefer at L’Abri in Switzerland and working for 2 months on a Kibbutz in Israel during the ‘60’s.  He enjoys running, hiking, mountain climbing, reading, traveling and photography.

Larry’s passion is helping others learn that they are wonderfully made in the image and likeness of God.  His years of experience as a counselor and speaker taught him that when people discover the wonder of, and appreciate how God created them, they are free to grow and change in ways they never imagined was possible.  They also more fully understand why God loves them and why Jesus was willing to die for them.   Life can become meaningful, enjoyable, real, and healthy.

Dr. Day’s book, “Self-Esteem:  By God’s Design” is a compilation of his work as a counselor and speaker helping people understand what it means to be made in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:26-27; Psalm 139:13-14).  It has been used by God to change thousands of lives.

Larry would be delighted to meet with anyone interested in learning more.  Whether thru coaching sessions or as a speaker for your next meeting or church function he can be contacted at 503-702-2288 or by email at larry@ibeari.com.
